And there’s more in the tags: The semicolon is kind of the slipping-foreign-phrases-into-conversation of punctuation. It’s classy if done right. If done too often, it looks a little pompous, like you’re just doing it to prove you’ve mastered it. If done incorrectly, you look out of your depth.
